Digital Marketing Manager

About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Digital Marketing Manager will have the responsibility for developing, coordinating and delivering digital marketing campaigns and projects for Visit Victoria’s China market. The role will liaise with digital marketing and creative agencies in China and key digital and marketing stakeholders in Melbourne to deliver high performing and innovative digital executions, manage and optimise activity, acquire and manage customer data profile and provide campaign reporting and analysis.
Key Accountability
Develop, implement and manage the digital marketing activity and communication plan across key digital channels to position and promote Melbourne and Victoria to the China market working closely with the China marketing team, consumer marketing and digital teams. Drive awareness, intent and conversion by using the latest insights, trends and technologies.
Provide project management of key digital marketing projects for Visit Victoria’s Chinese consumer marketing campaigns and innovation projects to deliver high quality digital user experiences and technologies.
Work closely with China Digital and Creative agencies, distribution partners, tour wholesalers, tour retailers, airlines, industry partners and key stakeholders in China and Victoria to provide strategic advice, education and direction on digital marketing campaigns, initiatives and communication.
Lead and manage social media and search activities for the Chinese market, ensuring campaigns and activity is regularly reported, analysed and optimised to maximise engagement and conversion.
Develop management reports, key performance indicators and analysis on digital performance and analyse trends on Visit Victoria’s digital channels utilising tracking and analytical tools.
Identify customer data segmentation opportunities and work with Visit Victoria Head Office digital team to develop data acquisition, audience segmentation and dynamic marketing campaigns to leverage data management platforms and owned and shared data sources.
Champion, coach and mentor China marketing team members on best practices in digital marketing, analytics and insights.
About You
Good command of English and Chinese language (Written and spoken) and excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills and experience negotiating with and managing internal and external stakeholders, agencies and service providers.
Demonstrated solid understanding of the digital marketing environment, including media advertising, social media, analytics, measuring and interpreting key communication metrics, tracking tools and related technology
Proven experience in leveraging digital campaigns to drive business results, and in leveraging digital channels as key components of holistic, integrated marketing campaigns.
Excellent online analytical and report writing skills.
Experience in project management, negotiation and implementation of marketing campaigns with key distribution partners and non-traditional partners. Ability to develop effective digital marketing communications across various sales models including direct, channel, distribution partners and e-commerce.
Familiarity with the Australian tourism industry and good destination knowledge of Melbourne and Victoria.
A flexible approach and the ability to accept and champion change.
Appropriate tertiary qualification in a Business or Marketing related business discipline.
Position Specific Requirements
This position is located in our Shanghai Office - China.
This position has a requirement to work out of hours, and it will involve evening or weekend work including occasional overnight travel.
