ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tourism WA has increased its investment in the China market in 2013/14. This is part of a long term strategy to grow WA’s share of Chinese visitors to Australia.
The purpose or prime function of this position is:
Develop and implement marketing plan to deliver agreed visitation and yield to WA from China. Also, with the support from the International Operations and Brand management teams, develop and implement trade marketing program to promote WA as a holiday destination.
Market Development
· Increase WA presence in multi-destination itineraries and ultimately to build sellable mono WA package.
· Develop sellable tour package in special interest segments by working with trade partners.
· Organize trade familiarization tour for trade partners within assigned budget
· Undertake cooperative trade campaigns to increase awareness of WA packages
Accou ntability
· Educate the travel trade through seminars, sales calls and functions within assigned budget.
· Develop marketing opportunities for WA industry partners.
· To maintain a prominent and positive presence in the travel and tourism industry by maintaining regular liaison with key people.
· Increase the number of FIT packages available in market by working with retail travel agents
· Work with tourism Australia via the ASP and PAS to identify key trade to target for training, cooperative marketing efforts and familiarizations.
· Provide a consultative service to the WA industry including the participation the participation meetings, presentations and formal written reports as requests.
· Ensure all activities are delivered within agreed budget
Leadership and Teamwork
· Work with Cou ntry Manager to monitor and review performance to ensure achievement of departmental goals and job satisfaction.
· Work well with other members of the China team & wider TWA team to ensure the performance supports TWA’s strategic goals and outcomes.
Administration
· Prepare, implement and monitor cooperative marketing campaigns, ensuring the budget is effectively managed for each project in liaison with the Cou ntry Manager.

Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate, within the context of the position:
· Ability to build relationship and negotiate co-op campaigns
Significant experience in formulating and developing consumer marketing campaigns (including digital marketing) with proven results through the tradeAn understanding of the local trade and the distribution network
· Substantial knowledge and experience in the travel and tourism industry
· Demonstrated proactive approach to establishing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
· Preparedness to undertake frequent domestic and international travel
· Proficiency in English, both written and verbal

Marketing Manager China Tourism Western Australia
Tourism Western Australia (TWA) is in search of a Marketing Manager China to join the Shanghai based team. Reporting directly to the Cou ntry Manager China, the position is a Manager role that will be responsible for Cooperative Marketing budget and Trade related business development.
The successful applicant will have:
